Located in the heart of the Kimberley, Mornington Wildlife Sanctuary, owned and managed by the non-profit Australian Wildlife Conservancy, offers nearly one million acres of spectacular gorges and tropical savannah dominated by the Fitzroy River and King Leopold Ranges.
From the camp there are many enjoyable day trips at Mornington which will make you want to stay just one more day. Canoe down Diamond Gorge and swim and explore Sir John Gorge. Before dinner, take a hamper for sunset drinks at a number of stunning locations. Birdwatching tours leave early in the morning, guided by experienced birdwatchers to the best locations. Private tours are available to exclusive locations such as the waterfall at Fitzroy Bluff and the shady Livistona gullies beside Mount Leake. Scenic flights and helicopter tours are available on request.
Relax and soak up the atmosphere with a few nights in the new Safari tents which boast their own private ensuite and balcony overlooking Annie’s creek. Alternatively pitch your own tent in the shady campground, which has communal hot showers and flushing toilets.
