Convict-built cottages (C.1825), feature renovated bathrooms, kitchens and quality linen while guests experience the soundtrack of the fairy penguins on sunset and the rumble under foot of mighty ships navigating the treacherous reef.

The Seafood Shack is rustic casual; the perfect drop-in for a burger and beer after riding the local MTB trails, or a family feast of fish and chips by the water. The menu focuses on local seafood, beer, wine, and cider. It’s relaxed, affordable, and friendly like the old days.

The accommodation collection includes the one-of-a-kind Light Keepers House; nestled beside the Light House on the very tip of the Low Head peninsula. The exquisitely renovated Luxury Low Head Chapel, couple style little boat crew cottages; the original Schoolhouse of Low Head Pilot Station renovated to a stunning three bedroom waterfront home, The Queenslander and Pilots House with dramatic waterfront positions ideal for larger groups and the Boatmans Houses which are tough family beach houses perfect for sandy feet and little kids.

Get cosy together in your heritage home away from home. The living room and bedroom windows look out towards the Maritime museum from across the green. The kitchen is equipped with everything you need for your self contained couples getaway. Take a long soak in the bath within your spacious bathroom. The Boatman’s East Cottage is the furthest East out of all the cottages and is closest to the entrance of Low Head Pilot Station Historic Precinct. This cottage has its own large office space so is great for those who are working away from home or those who want to stay and host a meeting from the same location. Accommodating up to four guests with two bedrooms, one with a Queen and one with two singles. The Coxswain’s cottage is closest to the Pilot boat and stone break wall – which is a great location to fish from. Just around the corner is the public boat ramp and the garden back gate opens up so that you may park your car within your privately fenced off back garden if you so wish. It is a white picket fenced cottage furthest West within the Low Head Pilot Station Historic Precinct and is a lovely location to watch the sunset behind the water. Accommodating up to nine guests with four bedrooms, one Queen bedroom, another with three single beds, a third with two single beds and lastly one with a single bed and a pull out sofa bed.

Purpose-built in 1866, as a Schoolhouse to provide education to the Pilot’s & Coxswain’s children. The Schoolhouse retains a sunny charm and has a lot of character. There are three bedrooms; one with a Queen bed, and two with two single beds. Providing a fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher and breakfast table, shower room, separate dining room, privately white-picket fenced garden with a barbecue and a spacious living room with Tamar river views. The Schoolhouse is a child’s stone throw to Pilot’s Bay.

Ever wondered what it may be like to be a Light Keeper? The Light Keeper’s house built in 1941 is found right at the tip-top of the Low Head peninsular next to Low Head Lighthouse. There are three bedrooms, one bedroom with one bedroom a Queen bed, second with a queen and the third has four single beds. It has two bathrooms, a dining room, living room, fully equipped kitchen, and laundry facilities. It features breath-taking view’s over the Bass Strait to sit and watch yacht’s drift by. Listen for the sound of the Penguins at dusk, with Tasmania National Parks as your back yard: expect garden visitors of Pademelon, bandicoot and rabbits.

Perched on a hill set within Tasmania National Park grounds sits the Queenslander. Providing high ceilings, hallways of polished wood floors, cosey living room and a large fully equipped kitchen dining room and laundry facilities. There are four bedrooms, two with Queen beds, and two with three single beds, one and a half bathrooms (two toilets). The Queenslander makes the most of this stunning location with a wrap-around verandah, where you can watch over the Penguin reserve, peer down the Tamar River, look out towards the Bass Strait, gaze up at Low Head Lighthouse. Enjoy garden evening visits from pademelons, rabbits, bandicoots and sometimes there are sheep roaming the other side of your garden fence.

Accommodating up to eight guests – there are four bedrooms, two with two single beds, one with a Queen bed and a Master bedroom with a Queen bed and en-suite shower room. In total there are three toilets, two showers and one bath. Providing a spacious living room, dining room, back porch with outdoor furniture and barbecue, fully equipped kitchen and separate reading nook. There are stone steps leading down to Pilot’s Bay beach from just outside the back garden.
