Black Hill Conservation Park

National Parks and Reserves

Enjoy spectacular scenery of rugged ridges and native plants and animals, as you walk the trails in Black Hill Conservation Park .

The park covers an area of 684 hectares and features the low sheoaks which give Black Hill its name. The foliage of the sheoaks gradually matures to a dark rusty, almost black colour, as summer progresses. As you look from the Adelaide Plains, the hills appear to be black.

The park also contains a wide variety of flora that offers a stunning display of native flowers in the spring including many delicate and colourful orchid species.

While you’re visiting the park, take a walk through the landscaped Wildflower Garden that dates back to the late 1940s.
