Bicentennial Tree

Historical Sites and Heritage Locations

Experience the tall-timber woodlands of Pemberton’s lush karri forests and see the Bicentennial Tree. Standing at a height of 65 metres, this tree, once a fire lookout is now an icon of the south west and centrepiece of the canopy.

Nearby you can explore the Warren River Loop Walk-Trail, meandering through the forest for a rejuvenating nature immersion. The surroundings are perfect for bird watching, with the chance to catch a glimpse of the rare red-tailed black cockatoo.

Enhance your visit by packing a picnic and taking advantage of the available facilities, including barbecues and a sheltered picnic area. Conveniently located a short drive from Pemberton, the Bicentennial Tree is approximately a 4-hour drive from Perth.

Although the Bicentennial Tree is closed for climbing while it undergoes maintenance, there is still so much to experience including canoeing, camping and bushwalking.
