Garners Heritage Wines is a small boutique vineyard striving for excellence. The estate grown single vineyard Shiraz is all hand tendered. Excess fruit is pruned off during the veraison process and this allows the remaining fruit to reach maximum flavour. Hand harvested in mid March, it is fermented in open vats and matured in new French and American oak.
In 2005 the first 4.5 acres of Shiraz we planted in the foothills of the Strathbogie Ranges. The first vintage produced, the 2008 Shiraz, won three awards in its first year, and was voted second best in the people's choice at Federation Square Wine Showcase Awards two years running.
It doesn't have to be expensive to be good!
The Garners love sharing the experience of growing and making great wine, with the added bonus of producing superb Extra Virgin Olive Oil.
To really get to know the family why not visit the vineyard and cellar door. As Garners is a working farm, please leave a message if no one answers the phone. Located just 90 minutes north of Melbourne.
