Granite Island is a popular destination for visitors to the seaside town of Victor Harbor. To get to the island, you can either walk across the causeway or catch the famous horse drawn tram.
Once you are there, the beautifully landscaped lawns and gardens make a great spot for a picnic, just sit back and relax under the shade of the enormous Norfolk Pines. You can also walk around the island on the boardwalk, a three kilometre trip which, on average, takes around 40 minutes to complete.
The Screwpile Jetty is a very popular spot for those interested in a bit of fishing and for those who don’t wish to catch their own meal the Reef Bistro offers fresh local seafood and spectacular views. Bookings are essential.
For a special experience, join a guided penguin tour and watch these delightful creatures return from a day of fishing at sea.
Please note: Park entry is free. Fees apply to guided penguin tours at dusk, the Victor Harbor Horse drawn Tram and the Penguin Interpretation Centre.
