The Joonjoo Botanical Trail provides an excellent opportunity to view a wide diversity of flora and fauna. Stroll along the interactive walking trail, reading the informative plaques to learn about the various species of flora along the way. Discover how the habitat is used by the Nyikina Aboriginal people and marvel at the age of this thriving land system which is over two million years old.
The trail will take up to an hour to complete, depending on your pace. Take your time and keep and look out for agile wallabies, kangaroos and skinks.
Purchase a trail booklet from the Derby Visitors Centre prior to your visit. The informative booklet will ensure you get the most out of the walk, with a detailed map and list of animals and plants that have been discovered in the area.
The path can be sandy during the dry season, so sturdy walking shoes are recommended along with water and insect repellent. The start of the walk trail is a ten minute drive from the town of Derby, and a two hour drive east of Broome.Visit Website
