Lake Leschenaultia is a huge scenic manmade lake, offering an abundance of water and land based activities to entertain the entire family. Hire a canoe for a few hours or take the three kilometre walk trail around the lake to explore the area on foot. You may get to see some of the numerous species of native birds, kangaroos, possums and echidnas that live in the area.
Children of all ages will enjoy the calm, tranquil waters and white sandy beaches. Make the most of the excellent picnic and barbeque facilities and settle back on the shaded lawn while the children play in the playground. A café near the water’s edge offers a wide selection of meals and drinks.
Surrounded by magnificent native trees and wildflowers the tranquil setting is an ideal location to camp overnight to enable you to explore the area further.
Nestled in the bushland of Chidlow just 50 minutes drive east of Perth, Lake Leschenaultia borders the Avon Valley which is home to the historic towns of Northam and York.
