Peel Zoo, Pinjarra, is a boutique, hands-on zoo, in a lush setting on the banks of the Murray River. We’re just 10 minutes from Mandurah and 1 hour from Perth. You’ll find us nestled just off Pinjarra Road, behind the Pinjarra Golf Club.
What makes Peel Zoo really unique is the ‘hands-on experience’ you get here. Hand feed the animals, hold a snake, pat a fox, tickle a ferret... We host 99 enclosures and house well over 100 species of birds and animals that will capture your imagination: koalas, wombats, bettongs, exotic birds, reptiles, bengal cats, spotted quolls, possums, owls... The huge walk-through aviary and Tasmanian Devils are star attractions.
We should also mention the exotic and unusual peacocks, ducks, and chickens that simply free-range throughout the property. And, because of our native wetland setting, they are often accompanied by spoon bills, ibis, and swamp hens. Peel Zoo truly is a magnificent menagerie.
The school holidays is a great time to visit the Zoo to watch the carnivore feeding; Monday to Friday at noon. Bring a hamper and take advantage of our FREE BBQ facilities. The Zoo is so tranquil, it’s actually therapeutic.
Peel Zoo is an awesome location for school camps, excursions, and themed children’s parties. Our new nocturnal tours are really amazing. And, if you can’t make it to the Zoo, ask us about our Zoo2U mobile reptile display.
The Zoo is open daily from 10:00am to 4:00pm weekdays, and 9:00am to 5:00pm weekends, public and school holidays.
