The track, consisting of two main loops, has a total length of approximately 11.5 kilometres.
The site was selected because of the peaceful nature of the area and because the high focal points on the hill give panoramic views of Griffith and the surrounding district.
The Hermits Cave can be approached via one of these tracks.
