Warlukurlangu Artists Aboriginal Association is a fully Aboriginal owned and governed art centre.
The Warlukurlangu Art Centre is famous for its gloriously colourful acrylic paintings, fine limited-edition prints and many of its members’ works are highly collectable. Purchases may be made at the art centre, with 100 per cent of the proceeds from all art work sales going directly back to the artists and their commuity projects.
Located at Yuendumu, the art centre is both a stronghold of traditional Warlpiri culture and an essential part of Yuendumu’s community life. Warlukurlangu means ‘belonging to fire’ in Warlpiri, and is named after a Fire Dreaming west of Yuendumu.
A permit is not required when visiting the art centre for the day. Please contact Warlukurlangu before embarking on a trip, as sometimes seasonal and cultural factors affect the art centre’s operations.
