The gateway to the Southern Highlands, Mittagong lies between the volcanic peaks of Mount Gibraltar and Mount Alexandra, 110 kilometres south west of Sydney. The town’s pretty gardens are open to the public throughout the year but it is in spring and autumn that they are in full bloom. This is a great place to potter for antiques and books, good food and wine.

Discover the best in contemporary Australian crafts at the Sturt Craft Centre, enjoy a picnic at Lake Alexandra or drive to the top of Mount Gibraltar to enjoy excellent lookouts and several short walking tracks.
