The Whistlestop Cafe is located on the Midwestern Highway between Hay and West Wyalong. The Whistlestop Cafe is a delightful old renovated railway station building and carriage. Local crafts available for purchase include woodwork, hand knitted and woven goods, etched glass, pottery, ceramics, and cottage craft. Devonshire teas are served in the railway carriage.
The West Wyalong Visitor Information Centre is in the library at the Bland Shire Council Chambers. There you will find brochures, and information about local events and attractions. The twin towns of Wyalong and West Wyalong retain a feel of the bygone gold era, with many historic buildings, old-style shop facades and wrought iron verandas.
