Having suffered a Stroke at 38 years of age, Dan Englund wants other Stroke Survivors to know that there is hope for a good recovery if you work hard, do your physical therapy and stay positive. In August 2012, Dan will run 1000 kilometres from Emerald to Brisbane to raise awareness for the signs of Stroke and prevention of Stroke.
The Central Highlands community is invited to help farewell Dan as he begins his 1000 kilometre "Dans F.A.S.T. Run" from Emerald to Brisbane.
The Stroke Survivors start the journey with the Stroke Survivors Walk before handing Dan over to the "I Ran with Dan Runners" to begin the 1000 kilometre journey.
Dan will travel to Springsure, Rolleston, Moura, Theodore, Taroom, Miles, Dalby, Toowoomba and arrive in Brisbane over a month later to officially open Stroke Week 2012.
