Debt of Honour: Australia’s First Commandos and East Timor is a free exhibition highlighting the exceptional war effort of Australia’s first guerrilla commandos and their life long endeavour to repay a ‘debt of honour’, to the people of Timor-Leste.
Explore an outstanding collection of rare wartime artifacts, photos, film footage and interviews with the participants. The exhibition tells the remarkable story of how during the ten month campaign, the 2/2nd owed their lives to the people of East Timor, who provided intelligence and assistance.
See how many of the 2/2nd soldiers and their families have spent their lives working with the people of East Timor in an effort to repay the ‘debt of honour’.
