Doku Rai (you, dead man, I don't believe you)
Start trying to come up with a genre title for the never-before-seen Doku Rai (you, dead man, I don't believe you) collaboration, premiering its regional mix of performance, music, film and installation at the Darwin Festival.
Leave it to the Darwin Festival to bend your mind with the anarchic and anti-institution collaboration between Australian theatre company The Black Lung Theatre and Whaling Firm, electro rock gods Galaxy and East Timorese performance company Liurai Fo'er (King Bin).
The first ever international production created in Timor-Leste, Doku Rai will have you quivering beneath the stars at the Amphitheatre as themes of morality, mortality, fragility and chaos are explored in a way that challenges preconceptions of conventional theatre.
With its loud music, vibrant effects, and chaotic lighting, Doku Rai will be sure to leave its mark on the 2012 Darwin Festival.
