If you’ve ever wanted to walk on top of the Fitzroy River Barrage for a unique view of the mighty Fitzroy River and the Barrage infrastructure, this is your chance. Council’s Water Committee Chair, Councillor Greg Belz said Fitzroy River Water (FRW) is hosting a Family Fun Day at the Barrage as part of National Water Week celebrations.
The Family Fun Day includes tours across the Barrage, interactive displays, food, entertainment and the opportunity to learn more about water conservation - all in a family-friendly environment.
This is only the third time in 41 years the Barrage has been opened to the public since its completion and official opening.
For safety reasons closed-in flat shoes will be required to access the Barrage structure and children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.Visit Website
