Footbeat Festival
Footbeat Festival formerly The Songlines Festival - now in its 16th year is an arts, environment and heritage festival that celebrates the outstanding natural and cultural environment of the Blue Mountains and surrounds.
The event start on 3rd October until Sunday 5th October with a 48 hour film project, a challenge for the participating groups is to make a short film in just two days - from script to screen.
Onwards from 15 October to 26th October, the Festival covers performances and visual art forms as well as presenting an informative and entertaining environmental awareness program.
Friday 24th - Cocktails party and official launch. The evening will be the presentation of the winners of the Youth Art Competition and of the 48-Hour Film Project. The winning art works will be on display and the winning films will be screened. The party will go into the evening with music from a local group.
Saturday 25th - This is the main music day of the Festival, covering all styles of music. Visit the web to see the program.
Sunday 26th - The Festival relocates to Wentworth Falls with Stalls, around the lake with various music throughout the day. Talks in the main marquee during the day with themes on both the environment and the arts. Also other activities and pony rides for younger children.
Field of Dreams at the lake this year is the Dragon Flies sculptural prize for youth and schools judged by Michael Henson while the closing ceremony will be built around an Indigenous ceremony - music and dance.
