National Cherry Festival
Enjoy cherries and a whole lot more. Don't miss all the excitement of the 59th National Cherry Festival!
The town of Young comes alive during the Cherry season and the National Cherry Festival is an annual event where the community of Young - best known as the Cherry Capital of Australia - celebrates not only the cherry season and harvest (November-December) but all that the town has to offer.
With fringe events held in the weeks running up to the main weekend and 'pick your own' cherries available from mid-November until Christmas, there is plenty for all visitors to enjoy. A visit to Young, ideally located in the Hilltops Food and Wine Region is an authentic country experience, so come and join the many visitors who take the opportunity to come and pick their own cherries and be welcomed by this friendly town.
Cherries are usually available for 'pick your own' from mid November until mid-December/Christmas but as the harvest depends upon the weather please contact the Young Visitor Information for seasonal changes.
For full details of all the Festival events contact the Young Visitor Information Centre to receive your copy of the 2008 Events Program
