Blayney BillyCart Bash
The Blayney BillyCart Bash is an annual event designed to bring together all age groups that can enjoy a low cost and exciting day of fun, spills and thrills.
Cart builders from as young as five, to mums, dads and grandparents can participate in a day that incorporates family fun and entertainment. There are food and merchandise stalls offering something for everyone, children's entertainment and static displays in a wide range.
The event is run over a 600 metre course, part of which was the scene of races up to fifty years ago where Blayney kids would meet for an annual derby.
There are seven race categories, with trophies and prizes being awarded to the first and second place getters in each category, best dressed entrant and team, and best looking carts. The variety of cart design and finish is a sight that keeps the spectators amused, but poses a dilemma to the judges.
Scrutineering is on Saturday afternoon, and Sunday at 8am for out of area entrants. Racing starts at 9am, goes all day and offers good natured fun for the whole community. Why not join in? - It’s FUN!.
