Parkes Picnic Races
The Parkes Picnic Races are held annually on the Saturday of the June long weekend.
The weekend has almost become a ‘Back to Parkes’ weekend, with many residents opening their homes to friends and relations who come to celebrate their connection with Parkes for the weekend. The weekend attracts visitors from all over the state, as well as from interstate.
People are welcome to organise their own arrangements for the races, or to purchase tickets in a hospitality tent organised and catered for by local pubs and clubs.
The big draw card at each year’s Picnic Races is the special guest. The special guest will be known closer to date.
