Evans Head Fishing Classic
People come from far and wide to enter this competition which offers prizes and a chance for the whole family to have some fun together. More than 1000 fisherman, women and children participate in this 'catch and release' event, which runs over a week in late June or early July.
Entertainment is provided in the compound at the event headquarters, with popular daily prize draws. Daily and weekly prizes for the heaviest live fish, prizes for the heaviest dead fish, a minimum of 20 nightly prize draws - one of which is for a tinny - are amongst some of the features. Plus a Kids Fishing Clinic is held followed by a Junior Mini Competition - making it a great event for the whole family.
