Sydney Winter Festival
During the 2008 Winter Season from August 8th to August 10th, a new event concept will entice Sydneysiders out of hibernation: Winter Festival will recreate the magic of traditional European winter celebrations, including a variety of culinary delights, and first class entertainment on an expansive outdoor screen and stage.
The event will provide visitor with the opportunity to enjoy irresistible winter treats from apple strudel to gluhwein (mulled wine) while enjoying a unique program of classical music concerts, chill-out electronica, fashion shows and screenings of classic winter films.
All this, plus the chance to experience traditional winter activities like curling, or get a warm and fuzzy fix at the winter petting zoo featuring baby mountain goats. The attractions of Winter Festival will provide an enchanting setting in which surrounding to mingle with friends and family daily from noon until 11.00pm.
