Darwin Symphony Orchestra - Carmina Burana
What better way to celebrate the end of the Darwin Symphony Orchestra’s 20th year than to indulge in the age old themes that are presented in Carl Orff’s musical and choral composition Carmina Burana. Guest conductor Nicholas Routley will be joined by Counter Tenor and Baritone Hartley Newnham and Soprano Lorina Gore, under the bright lights, for this rich vocal and orchestral feast.
Keep an eye on the percussion section as Orff’s masterpiece can be brutally percussive in parts and that’s where the action will be.
As a special treat, Routley himself will conduct the orchestra and soloist David Thomas in the first ever performance of Routley’s Clarinet Concerto. Now there’s an incredible celebration not to miss this spectacular evening.
