Darwin Symphony Orchestra - Gershwin And All That Jazz

Australian soloist Michael Harvey (piano) will present two works by Gershwin for full orchestra, ‘Variations on I got Rhythm’ and ‘Rhapsody in Blue’ as well as Carl Vine’s – Piano Sonata, one of the most outstanding works written for solo piano, and Rhapsody in Blue.

The Darwin Symphony Orchestra’s program also showcases Michael Daugherty’s – Route 66, Charlie Chaplin’s film The Risk with music composed by Carl Davis. The evening concludes with Ferde Grofe’s, the Grand Canyon.

Guest Concertmaster is Spiros Rantos, violinist and conductor and is currently Senior Lecturer at the University of Queensland.
