Darwin Symphony Orchestra - Water, Fire and Passion
Inspired by the music of Latin America, the Darwin Symphony Orchestra will perform pieces from Revueltas – Sensemaya, the elegance of JS Bach’s – Concerto for Oboe d’amore and Piazzolla’s evocative tangos from his Four Seasons, inspired by Vivaldi’s work of the same name.
Soloist Kim Walker (bassoon) will perform pieces from Villa-Lobos’ – Ciranda das Seta Notas and Beethoven’s Symphony No. 5 in C Minor, Op. 67, sometimes called the ‘Destiny Symphony’.
Guest conductor is Maestro Imre Pallo, Professor and Chair of Conducting and Opera Productions at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. Guest Concertmaster is Michele Walsh, who is recognised as one of Australia’s leading violinists and teachers.
