Flying Fox and Cultural Festival

Join in the vibrant celebration of art and culture at the Flying Fox Art and Cultural Festival.

The Flying Fox Art and Cultural Festival, held in Katherine, incorporates a variety of community events over 10 days. The events have included a debutante ball, art and craft awards, a street parade, exhibitions, workshops, Chinese Dragon Boat races on Katherine Gorge (Nitmiluk), flying fox walk and talk, markets, a car show and plenty of live entertainment.

Indigenous song, dance, music and art is on show via well-known Northern Territory bands, traditional and contemporary dance, Yidaki (didjeridu) competitions, art, craft and bush tucker stalls and screenings of local indigenous films. The art exhibition showcases the talent of local residents with the opening on Friday night and general viewing over the weekend.
