Opening of Samford Museum's WarTime Memories Display
Opening of Samford Museum's Wartime Memories display. This project has been made possible by a Q150 grant from the Queensland State Government. Scenes depicting battle locations and mannequins dressed in appropriate uniform will be a large part of this permanent display. Local service personel, including nurses, who have served in all wars, will be honoured throughout the display in the relocated and transformed Grovely Railway Station.
Included in the Q150 celebrations will be one minute silence , march past, living history performances by fifth Maleny Light Horse Troop, Moreton Bay Regiment, Contact Front, Army Group South, military vehicles and motorcycles and more.
This will be a day of special interest for service personnel, their families and descendants, as well as railway history enthusiasts. All museum displays will be open and assistance with research enquiries available.
