Roaring Twenties Swing Ball
On 14 June, the Helidon Community Centre will be holding The Roaring Twenties Swing Ball, starting at 8.00 p.m.
Queensland's own Caxton Jazz Band will be playing, along with an 18 piece band, Urban Swing Big Band. The Ball will feature music and dance from the 20s such as the Charleston; the Foxtrots and Quicksteps of the 30s and the East Coast Swing and Jitterbug of the 40s. Patrons are encouraged to set the mood by coming dressed in the styles of these eras.
For those who would like to learn some basic swing steps or brush up on their swing skills, pre-purchased tickets include complimentary dance lessons Brisbane Swing Dance Instructors, Mark Paroz and Vicki Lawrance.
