Rugby League World Cup - Gold Coast

The 2008 Rugby League World Cup will be held in Australia in October and November. 10 countries will compete in the first World Cup held since
2000. Thousands of Rugby League fans from England, New Zealand, France and the Pacific Islands will be attending matches. Come along and enjoy the atmosphere, as this event only occurs every four years.

Rugby League World Cup organisers have thrown a huge vote of support behind the Gold Coast's Skilled Park by scheduling two key games at the State Government owned venue. Sport Minister Judy Spence and Australian Rugby League Chief Executive Geoff Carr announced Skilled Park will host a pool game between New Zealand and Papua New Guinea on Saturday 1 November and on Monday 10 November, the winners of pools ‘Two and “Three” will play for a Semi Final berth.
