Blackall Woolscour Centenary Celebrations

Come to Blackall and join the centenary celebrations of the Blackall Woolscour. This historical wool washing plant was once the lifeblood of the town and is now believed to be the only complete operation of its kind in Australia with the original steam machinery still in place.

The weekend of celebrations will include a Seniors Woolscour Challenge as well as shearing and blacksmithing demonstrations. There will be markets, community stalls, photography and quilt displays and live entertainment well into the night. A combined church service on the Sunday morning will include a ‘Blessing of the Fleece’.

The Woolscour Centenary Celebrations coincide with the Blackall Heartland Festival celebrating all things to do with Wool, Water and Wood.
