Stanthorpe Art Gallery Exhibition - Ornamentomology and Creepy Creatures
The Stanthorpe Art Gallery presents Ornamentomology - Toured by the Museums and Galleries Association of Queensland. This exhibition of contemporary jewellery and photography created by selected members of the Jewellers and Metalsmiths Group of Queensland, is inspired by and celebrates the new world revealed to us by advances in photographic microscopy.
Superb works by some of Queensland’s finest established and emerging jewellers will be displayed adjacent to, and in the context of, the remarkable collection of images from the Queensland University’s Centre for Microscopy and Microanalysis which inspired them.
Creepy Creatures is a Stanthorpe Art Gallery public program. Explore the world of creatures that creep, in this exhibition specially curated by the gallery. Help to create a swarm of insects by displaying your own creatures. Make them out of wire, recycled materials, paint them, or photograph them. Contact the gallery if you would like to participate.
