Open Cockpit Weekend
Come along and get a close up look as the aircraft cockpits are opened up on the Open Cockpit Weekend. Knowledgeable volunteers will be on hand to tell the tales of service and stardom of the military flying machines and the civilian passenger aircraft.
The collection includes over 50 aircraft both complete and in parts. There are also large photographic and memorabilia displays. The Open Cockpit Weekend will also feature displays from visiting groups and museums to add to the impressive array of historical items on display.
Queensland Air Museum’s founders identified the need for an aviation museum for the people of Queensland. This group of dedicated citizens set about creating such a museum anyway.
