Sunshine Coast Regional Winter Bowls Carnival
The Sunshine Coast Winter Bowls Carnival is in its 46th year and attracts participants from all of the States of Australia and New Zealand. Over recent years, other carnivals are conducted in conjunction with the original carnival. The clubs involved include, Maroochy Swan, Mooloolaba, Buderim, Kawana and Caloundra City.
The carnival commenced two years ago with the amalgamation of the three local councils in March 2008. The winter carnival will extend from Noosa to Pelican Waters and Inland to Palmwoods. The total prize money in 2009 will be AUD129, 000. All of the carnivals will be held in winter at the bowls clubs of Buderim, Mooloolaba, Maroochy Swan, Kawana and Caloundra, which are all located on the Sunshine Coast.
