Defence Force Air Display Townsville
An Air Display involving the USAF Thunderbird aerobatic display team and ADF aircraft will be conducted over water along the Strand on 26 September. The flying display will last approximately three to four hours and will involve a wide variety of military aircraft including USAF F-16 and RAAF F/A-18, F-111, C17, C130 and Army Rotary Wing aircraft. In addition to military aircraft, some warbirds and vintage aircraft will also be on display. The flying display will be followed by a 90 minute concert involving the RAAF and 1st Battalion Bands.
On Sunday 27 September, RAAF Townsville will open its gates to allow the general public to view, touch and in some case walk through the aircraft involved in Saturdays flying displays. In addition there will be a number of Army, Air Force, Recruiting and commercial static displays that will depict the range of ADF operations in Townsville.
