Government House Open Day- As part of History Week

Step inside and enjoy the charm of the beautifully presented rooms in the oldest Government House in Australia. Thirty-three successive Governors have lived in this House - the second oldest continuously occupied house in Adelaide. Come and see, on this day only, specially set up displays and memorabilia of historic significance. Have you ever wondered what an original signed Act of Parliament looks like? How the State dining table looks when set with silver and crystal for a formal dinner? How Royal Visits are organised? Discover where the police chief in 1862 was murdered. There are lovely art works on loan from the State Gallery. Staff and friends of the House will be on hand to guide you. The Friends of the Botanic Gardens will provide garden tours.
