Government House Open Day

Step inside and enjoy the charm of the beautifully presented rooms in the oldest Government House in Australia - the second oldest continuously occupied house in Adelaide. Come and see, on this day only, specially set up displays and memorabilia of historic significance, including original documents.

See the State dining table set with silver and crystal for a formal dinner. Discover where the police chief in 1862 was murdered. There are lovely art works on loan from the State Gallery and Staff and friends of the House will be on hand to guide you. Garden tours will be provided by The Friends of the Botanic Gardens of Adelaide and members of the Victoriana Society of South Australia Incorporated will be dressed in period costumes.
