Picnic at Marble Hill
Food and wine enthusiasts will come together for a spectacular gourmet picnic at the ruins of the Governor's former summer residence at Marble Hill, just 15 kilometres east of Adelaide.
Gutted by bushfires in 1955 - but still of one of Australia's greatest surviving examples of nineteenth century gothic architecture - the romantic ruins will provide a stunning backdrop for this showcase of the finest produce of the Adelaide Hills.
To the sounds of live music, visitors on the day will be free to purchase sumptuous ingredients for the creation of their own picnic from over 30 stalls to be run by the region' leading artisans. They will then be able to share their picnic with family and friends while enjoying some commanding views.
This event will also represent the revival of the traditional Basket Range Cherry Blossom Festival (an annual event that ended with the bushfires of 1955).
