Coopers Kangaroo Island Cup Carnival
This two-day carnival is not only the island's premier racing event, it is also its largest tourism event. Each year more and more people are making the journey to enjoy the carnival atmosphere. The highlight of the weekend is the KI Cup Race Day, with everything you would expect from a cup day - fashions, local food and wine and free entertainment for everybody - but there's also plenty of other things happening in and around the course.
The racecourse is transformed with Marquees and colourful signs and flags, its great to be trackside to enjoy the racing and of course there is the crayfish picking competition which entertains the crowds between races.
For three days, the party atmosphere in the picturesque seaside town of Kingscote is just fantastic. It's a perfect way to spend a long weekend, but one thing is for sure - it won't be long enough.
