Riverland Renaissance Festival 2008
The Riverland comes alive during October 2008 with a celebration of wine, food, sports, multicultural fun and celebrations. The Riverland Renaissance is a two-week program dedicated to promoting the region's wine and food industry, the River Murray and some of the most spectacular tourism spots in the area.
This fantastic part of South Australia boasts a great lifestyle, with many activities focussed around the Murray. Its golf courses are highly regarded, its natural produce demanded the world over, and its multicultural diversity adds flair and variety.
The ‘Riverland Renaissance’ brings these elements together and celebrates the region’s way of life, and invites people from other areas to share in this festivity. Activities include dinners, concerts, and other events including the Riverland Wine and Food Festival.
5-11 October - Riverland Wine week.
5 October - Pranzo - Mediterranean Style lunch presented on the riverbank in Waikerie - Italian stage band.
11 October - Lakeside Jazz - Twilight dinner at the Barmera Yacht Club overlooking Lake Bonney - Jazz music.
11 October - Riverland Farmers Market - Cooking Demonstration using fresh, local ingredients at the market in Berri.
13 October - Chef Workshop TAFE Berri - Local chefs and apprentices invited to attend workshop by renowned chef.
16 October - Chefs on the Murray - Formal six-course meal prepared from regional food, served with quality Riverland wine at the Renmark Club.
18 October - Riverland Food and Wine Festival - Held on the riverfront at Berri.
18-20 October - Around the Region - Events hosted by cellar doors and dining venues throughout the Riverland.
