Bushfire and Friends - Art Exhibition
This is an exhibition of art by Roger ‘Bushfire’ Saunders. Roger is listed as a contemporary, indigenous artist whose love of colour is shown in his painting. Though he follows the strictures of his Elders that each painting must tell a story, his stories are mostly of the present or of his colourful slant on the past Dreamtime stories. Of the Ngarrindjeri People, Roger has won many art prizes from Ardrossan, Victor Harbor and Bundaberg to name a few. He has exhibited works in Adelaide, Sydney, Brisbane and Bundaberg. This exhibition will be his first to display a number of his works under one roof.
Several other emerging artist friends will be exhibiting for the first time. Tanya Webb from Edithburgh and Jennifer Stephens from Adelaide.
The Moonta Gallery of the Arts will be open from Thursday to Monday, and Roger will be the Artist in Residence during this period.
