Taste of the Harvest is a food and wine festival with an agricultural and local produce theme. You can graze on potato and other vegetable dishes, venison, lamb shanks, beef pies and conclude with strawberries and raspberries from the local region. And of course you can accompany your gourmet food with Tasmanian wine and beer and quality coffee.
Boags, Cascade, White Rock Vineyards, Lake Barrington Vineyards, Tamar Ridge Winery and Dalrymple, Ghost Rock Vineyard, Barrington Park Winery and Ashgrove Cheese are just some of the brands you can experience.
Entertainers will perform music across the genres of rock and roll, country, jazz and folk as well as a brass band. Circus acts, balloon sculpture, jumping castles, face painting and performing dogs will entertain the kids.
Tasmania's key producers will exhibit in the agricultural marquee. Expect to see McCain Foods, Simplot, Harvest Moon, Webster Walnuts, Tas Alkaloids, along with celebrity chefs.
Farm gate bus tours of the North West Coasts most productive agricultural areas are held in the week leading up to the event. Run over three days, you can visit farms and processors in the beautiful Forth/Devonport area with an itinerary of sites ranging from farm operations to food processing.
