Jerusalem Quartet and Zvi Plesser

The Jerusalem Quartet joins Israeli cellist Zvi Plesser to play Haydn, Vine and Schubert
No strangers to Tasmania, the Jerusalem Quartet has become a firm Hobart favourite since its first performance here in 2001.
The young ensemble's performance hallmarks of exuberance and electricity have made it undoubtedly one of the world's most exciting chamber ensembles. Since 2006 the Jerusalem Quartet has been Musica Viva Australia's inaugural ensemble-in-residence.
For its final tour as resident ensemble and the 2009 season closer, the Jerusalem Quartet is joined by close friend and esteemed colleague, Israeli cellist Zvi Plesser, giving Hobart audiences the rare opportunity to hear Schubert's magnificent String Quintet. Our final concert continues the focus on the music of Carl Vine, with the Tasmanian premiere of Carl Vine's string quintet.
