The Tomewin Mountain Challenge is a testing 22 kilometre road running event that takes in the beautiful Currumbin Valley and the scenic Mount Tomewin on a course that starts and finishes at The Ecovillage.
Competitors have the novelty of turning around at the Queensland/New South Wales border before making the less arduous return journey down the mountain.
The event is aimed at runners of all abilities who are looking for a challenge in a friendly, supportive environment. Options are available for individuals or two and three person teams. The winners of the event are crowned the King and Queen of Tomewin and receive a lasting memento of their achievement that showcases the Currumbin Valley.
The event enjoyed enormous success in its first year in 2011 and has been expanded to include a six kilometre 'Highland Hurry' and a 1km Family Fun Run that raises funds for Duchenne's muscular dystrophy.
