Carols by Candlelight and Christmas Festival at Swifts Creek
The Community Carols at Swifts Creek are on again this year. Sponsored by the Combined Churches of the Swifts Creek and Omeo District this is a great opportunity to join in the spirit of Christmas. Come and celebrate with the people of the community in a fun event leading up to Christmas.
The Carols are to be held in the grounds of the Swifts Creek Primary School in the centre of the town conveniently sited on the Great Alpine Road. The Carol singing will commence at about 7.30pm, but come along beforehand and join in with the fun of craft stalls and a sausage sizzle. Local community groups will provide a stall of Christmas goodies; there will be face painting for the children. There will also be a sausage sizzle and donuts for sale. Members of the High Country Singers, a local choir, will provide musical leadership and children from the Swifts Creek Primary School will present some musical items.
This is an event which is looked forward to each year, and is growing in its place within the community calendar. It involves anyone in the community who wishes to take part and is centred on fun for all the family.
There is ample parking outside the school grounds and public conveniences are adjacent to the school grounds.
Come along and join us on Friday evening 11th December 2009, commencing at 6.30pm for stalls and other activities, with carols singing commencing at around 7.00pm. Please bring your own chair. For further information please contact the Rev Alison McRae, Uniting Church, on (03) 5159 4242
