2009 Inverloch Jazz Festival
The Inverloch Jazz Festival is an event held over the Labour Day long weekend in March of each year. 2009 will be the sixteenth consecutive year it has been held. The festival consists of programmed jazz groups performing in at least four venues available only to fee-paying customers and registered musicians. In all there are more than 100 hours of programmed jazz in the indoor venues, plus a Friday night Grand Opening, a Street Parade (Saturday), Jazz Church Service (Sunday), and a free Picnic in the Park (Monday). In addition, there are satellite venues, for example at local wineries, to provide jazz, food and wine afternoon and evenings for our patrons. The "Big Band Marquee Venue" allows local school bands and larger professional bands to participate to a greater extent. The Korumburra/Leongatha school band infrastructure in particular now regularly allows more exposure to the festival for the benefit of the students, and it is known that these bands draw much interest when they do play.
