Moe Jazz Festival
The Moe Jazz Festival is held each year on the March Labor Day weekend. Our 2008 festival kicks off on Friday night, 7th March, at the Moe RSL featuring four bands in two adjoining venues. On Saturday morning the street will come alive with activities, followed by the Jazz Parade and the Big Blow. Jazz will begin in three venues (Mid City Tavern, Moe Hotel and Moe RSL) from 1pm on Saturday until late. On Sunday you can breakfast at Old Gippstown and either stay for more entertainment or wander down to the Jazz Mass at St. Kieran s Catholic Church.
Jazz will continue on Sunday afternoon in Moe or you might like to join one of our three tours, which were so popular last year Lunch at the Old Brown Coal Mine Museum, a mine tour and returning via the Moe Historical Society; Jazz at Walhalla, including a visit to the Erica Begonia Festiv or the Immigration Wall at Kernot Hall in Morwell, where two of our jazz bands will be playing, stopping at the Latrobe Valley Art Centre and the international award-winning rose garden on the way. You will be back in time to dine and enjoy your Sunday evening jazz.
On Monday there will be a full day of jazz in the marquee at the Moe Racing Club, whilst having the opportunity to join in the full racing program.
The Moe Jazz Festival committee is dedicated to the promotion of jazz and our beautiful Gippsland Region. If you are joining us for the first time we extend a warm welcome and hope you have a wonderful time. To all our regular friends, we look forward to catching up with you again for our 17th.
Join in the fun and wear our festival colours this year they are black, white and red.
