Central Highlands Historical Association Family and Local History Expo
The CHHA Family and Local History Expo 2008 is planned for the 4th-5th October 2008. It will again be held at the ACU Aquinas Campus, 1200 Mair Street, Ballarat. In addition to the many opportunities for ressearching family and local district history the Theme will be Entertainment 1850-1950. Archival film and many other historic examples will be highlighted from the pre TV age in Australia. There will be a series of three lectures on aspects of the Theatre and other forms of entertainment on each of the two days. The lectures will be held at 11am, 12.30 pm and 2.00pm with each lecture being given on both days.Light refreshments are available on site.Wheel chair accesability available to all parts of the site. In addition to the research resources that will be available from the various participating societies, there will be workshops/lectures given on: How to research your family military history; different ways to publish your family history and how to date old photographs.
