Horsham Spring Orchid Show

Horsham Spring Orchid Show is one of the biggest on the shows calendar of the Australian Orchid Council and Orchid Societies Council of Victoria. Eight judges (National) officiate. The show is part of the Horsham Awakenings Festival - the only regional festival in Australia to feature the skills of people with a handicap. The Orchid Society encourages the handicapped to share in orchid culture. Society Growers enter stands/displays of Orchids for judging. A major trophy is the Helen Handbury Perpetual Award for most artistic display. The award perpetuates the lifetime of community work in the area by the late Helen Handbury, sister of media magnate Rupert Murdoch.
