Summer Art @ Old Post Office Seymour
Old Post Office Seymour presents an Annual Summer Art Show. This prestigious exhibition continues throughout the Summer Season until Australia Day and features Australian Art for Gifts, Collection or Investment.
In 2009 the Gallery will be introducing paintings by Peter Smales, Alison Clark, Sue Bayre, Collins Bowes, Jo Millikan and Stephen Phillis. All are well established artists but new to the Gallery.
Also on show works by many of the Galleries regular exhibitors including Paul Margocsy, David Chen, Malcolm Beattie, Agnes Szetey, Kevin Boucher, Kate Ferguson, Fiona Anderson, Rodger Scott, Meg Heres, Laurel Foenenader, Vida Pearson, Janette George-Shambrook, Jenny Bohner, Karen Gingell, Rita Daniel, Jay Sinclair, Kerry Nobbs, Jaqui Pierce, Annie Stark, Craig Penny, Carole Foster, Hans Van Vlodrop and many more.
Original, traditional and modern paintings in oil, pastel, watercolour and mixed media varying in size from miniatures to metres are displayed.
Pottery by Mary-Lou Pittard, Judy & Ric Pierce, John Strommer, Jane Annois, Cathie Oddie, Emily Lazuk and others are displayed throughout the gallery as is sculpture by Damien Santamaria, Andre Vanne, Des McKenna and Sue Hicks.
Art glass by Marina Villani, Eileen Gordon, Eveline Schumman, June Emmins & Bonigilla Glass are showcased as well.
Room after room of art, in most styles and mediums, is displayed in the C1872 fully restored heritage building.
An elegant relaxed atmosphere has been created with plush red carpet, chandeliers, parquetry flooring and antique furniture. Many of the original features of the heritage building have been retained and an extensive rose garden planted.
Centrally located in the award winning Fine Art Gallery is a fully licensed Restaurant that serves everything from a Devonshire to an A La Carte extensive menu with a complimenting local wine list.
The Fine Art Gallery & Licensed Restaurant were established in 1992 and the owners pride themselves on being "A World Class City Style Fine Art Gallery".
